A lot of you have been digging through old memorabilia and have made some great finds! This is an example of the Purdy Pin which was sold at the 1983 Purdy Family Reunion. The pin features the “bogus” Purdy coat of arms. Do you have any other interesting Purdy artifacts? If so, let us know by leaving a comment here on this blog!

I have one of these pins scanned into my facebook page and it is always a topic of conversation.
Did any of the placemats with the original White Plains, NY home survive even in less than pristeen condition? Much mention is made of it in my 1983 copy of Clayton’s book but a scan of even a shopworn image would be nice to see. I can just visualize everybody finding themselves on the descendancy charts at this one.
Will any thing like this be available for this years reunion?
In response to Glenn’s question: Yes, a beautiful commemorative coin is in the works. It will be provided to every registered attendee, at the event.
Are these coins going to be available outside of the reunion
and if so where can they be purchased for the Purdy’s who
did not know about the reunion?
In response to Carolyn’s question, any commemorative coins left over from the event may be purchased by any Purdy descendent, whether or not they were able to attend the reunion. Visit this blog in mid-July for details.
Just wanted to send along a great big congratulations to all who helped in any way to organize the reunion….it was a wonderful weekend!! We thoroughly enjoyed it and will certainly look forward to the next one:)
