Our Registrar, Rebecca Purdy, relaxes after stuffing the last of the registration packages, for our over 170 attendees of the Purdy Loyalist Reunion. All the hard work of the organizers will soon come to fruition for the event, to be held July 4-6, 2008.
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion, and hope you enjoy meeting your cousins, participating in the variety of activities we have planned, and remembering our shared roots!
Our very special thanks to all our volunteer organizers, for their work and dedication getting everything ready for this event:

I am a direct descendent of Gabriel (4) Purdy son of Samuel (3) Purdy who served with an unknown Loyalist Unit during the revolution and who’s family re-settled in Clements, Annapolis County NS. If anyone has information as to what unit (if any), my ancestors Gabriel (4) and his son Samuel (5) served in, would be appreciated. Gabriel (4) purchased his farm from Oliver DeLancey, Commander of the famous DeLancey’s Brigade whom I am assuming he may have joined along with his nephews (your ancestors Captain Henry and Sergj Gabriel Purdy).
Here is what I have: Gabriel 4 Purdy b 1721 d 1803 Digby,NS He was Captain of a Loyalist Company. removed at age 61 to Annapolis, NS, with all his sons, dau and their families. He is
uncle of Henry, Gilbert and Gabriel Purdy who went to Cumberland County, NS
